REAL LIFE NEWS: JAW-BUSTING BURGERS

by Hazed

Shocking news from the world of fast food now: reports from Taiwanese dentists say that eating big burgers can damage your jaws.

Fast food restaurants in Taiwan have been urged to stop selling big burgers, because of a growing number of jaw injuries. After munching through one of the giant burgers, patients are apparently having difficulty opening their mouths. This is according to Professor Hsu Ming-lung, of National Yang-Ming University.

He has been quoted in the China Post saying that the problems come with burgers than are higher than 3 inches. And - any excuse for a bad joke - he called on fast food joints to limit the size of their hamburgers to prevent the public from biting off more than they can chew. No, I don't know if HE made that bad joke, or if it was the reporter on the BBC News website where I got the story...

I have to wonder why this is a problem that hasn't been reported in the US or the UK. I am sure I've seen huge burgers on sale, much bigger than 3 inches high. Maybe there's some special technique to eating big burgers safely which the Taiwanese just haven't mastered yet.
