REAL LIFE NEWS: VOYAGER VOYAGES OUT OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

by Hazed

Voyager 1 is the most distant spacecraft from Earth. Well, that's if you don't count all the alien ships that might be in other star systems! After 33 years, it's now about 10.8 billion miles from home, and has reached a new milestone in its journey out of the Solar system.

Voyager has detected a distinct change in the flow of particles that surround it. These particles, which come from the Sun, are no longer travelling outwards, but are moving sideways. This means the ship must be very close to leaving Sol and entering interstellar space.
