ON THE WEB: STRANGE MEASUREMENTSby HazedYou might use Imperial measurements - feet and inches - or metric kilo- and centimeters when you want to describe how big, or high, or heavy or fast something is. But there are times when a more unorthodox measuring term comes in handy. Here in the UK we measure area by comparing things to the size of Wales, and the London double-decker bus is also a handy comparator. But there are even stranger ones, as you will see from the list here. I love the idea of the beard-second! |
