MONEY MAKES FED DATASPACE GO ROUND

by Hazed

Once a month, there appears in my email inbox that most unpleasant of letters: a bill. A bill for Fed's hosting fees. A bill that must be paid.

I reach for my credit card and pay the bill, thereby ensuring that the game keeps going for another month.

Then I hope to recoup the cost from you, the players.

Yes, you can play Fed for free - but the game isn't free to run, so we rely on enough of you giving us some money every month to keep going.

You do this by purchasing game tokens called slithy toves. These can be used in Fed DataSpace to get goods and services, some of them useful and functional, some social or decorative. For example:

  • The navcomp upgrade that aids in getting around Sol
  • A variety of price checkers for anyone trading on the Galaxy's exchanges
  • A teleporter to make it easy to jaunt around
  • Various permits to enhance factories and depots
  • Planet enhancements - including a groat boost for your treasury
  • The limited edition charms on sale from Gallagher's on Earth
  • You can even get married!

There's a full list of all the exciting things you can do with slithies here.

A slithy tove costs $5, and if you subscribe you get a big discount (4 for the price of 3). Go to the Extras page to make a purchase or subscribe.

If you do, you'll be helping to ensure you can carry on playing Fed2.
