REAL LIFE NEWS: WANNA BE AN ASTRONAUT?

Robot probes going to Mars (or not) are all very well, but what about missions involving humans? If you have always wanted to be an astronaut, and aren't satisfied with flying your spaceship in Fed DataSpace, then you will be pleased to know that NASA is currently recruiting a new batch of astronauts.

There are between nine and fifteen positions available for astronauts who will train in Houston Texas and then be in line for stints on the ISS, or if any deep space missions come up later may get a place on those too.

You need to be an American citizen, and have a PhD in a science subject and a test pilot licence. Sadly, I don't think the ability to fly a ship in Fed is going to help.
