REAL LIFE NEWS: DUMB CRIMINAL GIVEN AWAY BY TATTOO

by Hazed

Here’s a tip. If you want to pretend you are someone else, don’t walk around with your real name tattooed on your arm.

Dylan Edward Contreras from Twin Falls, Idaho, was stopped by police late one night. The officer reported that he’d been on patrol not long after midnight when he saw three men and a dog walking in the street. He told them to move to the sidewalk. When the dog-walker looked like to he might make a run for it, the officer asked the men for their identification.

One of the men said his name was Emiliano Velesco, and the info he provided didn’t bring up any matches in a police database. However, the eagle-eyed officer noticed he had a tattoo of the name “CONTRERAS” on his left forearm, so he radioed in a request for info about that name, using the birthdate the man had given. Bingo: dispatch came back with information about a possible warrant, then sent a photo of the man to the officer.

Contreras was arrested on three outstanding warrants, all for failing to appear on charges of providing false information and underage drinking. He’s due in court in May.
