REAL LIFE NEWS: DRAGON IS GO!

by Hazed

The first commercial spaceflight to the International Space Station launched earlier this week and has now been grabbed by the station’s robotic arm.

The Dragon spacecraft, sitting atop the Falcon 9 rocket, took off from Cape Canaveral and showed that it’s not just the government that can do spaceflight. After a close fly-past of the ISS, during which the astronauts aboard the station took control of the Dragon, it came close enough to be captured.

By the time you read this, Dragon’s doors should have opened so the crew of the ISS can unload its cargo of food and other supplies, as well as some science projects.

The Dragon will then undock in about three weeks and return to Earth, to be used again.

Watch a video of the launch here. Details of the docking are here.
