STORMY WEATHER WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR FED CONNECTION

Back in mid July when we shifted Fed DataSpace to the cloud, there was some confusion as to what this actually meant. What was the cloud, where was it, would we get wet when it rained?
Well it turns out that baffled Fed players were not alone. A new survey shows that the general public is just as mystified. In fact, 51% of respondents think stormy weather will interfere with cloud computing.
In addition, over half of those asked claimed never to use cloud computing - even though they report doing all kinds of cloud-based things such as banking online, sharing photos and uploading files.
The survey was conducted by Wakefield Research for Citrix, who provide cloud services. The results indicate that cloud services are not well-defined in consumers’ minds, and that those who provide such services - whether it’s Google, Amazon or Dropbox - should make things a bit clearer.
Otherwise people will continue to expect the cloud to be affected by bad weather.
