REAL LIFE NEWS: THE ULTIMATE ARGUMENT AGAINST FRACKING

Fracking - or hydraulic fracturing - is a controversial way of extracting oil and gas from shale rock. Opponents argue that there are some serious side-effects, such as the threat of earthquakes, contaminated water supplies, even water bursting into flames as it comes out of your tap.
If those arguments haven't convinced you, maybe this one will: fracking may harm beer!
A new report from the German brewers' association has warned that fracking may pollute the water used to make German beer. There's a law in the country that says German beer can only be composed of malt, hops, yeast and water, so the contaminants from fracking could fall foul of the purity law.
