REAL LIFE NEWS: PARROT SAVES WOMAN FROM VIOLENCE
by Hazed
In recent weeks we’ve had a parrot that told police its owner was driving while drunk and a parrot that solved a murder. Now I can report the story of a parrot that frightened away an attacker.
Wunsy the African grey was being taken for a walk and fly around in a park in north London by his female owner, when an assailant grabbed her shoulders and shoved her.
Wunsy came to the rescue, squawking and flapping his wings in the attacker’s face. This was enough to send him fleeing.
Police Constable Chris Cutmore said, “This was a random attack on a woman walking out of a park.” He added that they were keen to trace the subject and prevent him from attacking anyone else – after all, future victims may not have an avian guard like Wunsy!
