REAL LIFE IMITATES FED: ROBO TRAFFIC COP

Traffic police in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi, cities in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa, have been replaced by a robot.
The intelligent traffic cop bot has been developed by an organisation called Women Technologies, which encourages female engineers in the country. It is solar powered, and comes with surveillance cameras to observe traffic offences. There’s a picture of the robo traffic cop at the source link below.
While local residents are enthusiastic at the moment, there is a concern that the robots will not be maintained properly, since many of the traffic lights in Lubumbashi’s traffic lights have fallen into disrepair.
Who knows the havoc a malfunctioning robot traffic cop could cause!
