DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: FACEBOOK FASHION FAIL

by Hazed

It seems to be quite common now for criminals to get caught because they post pictures of themselves on Facebook with their loot. Here’s a really blatant example.

Becki and Bradley Cannings started to notice things going missing from their house. Clothes and jewellery were suddenly vanishing, and each week more things were gone. They were puzzled until Becki’s mother looked at the Facebook page of their nanny, who had been employed to look after their two-year-old daughter.

The Facebook pictures showed the nanny, Sasha, posing in the missing clothes and wearing the jewellery.

Busted!

Such stupidity in realising that pictures posted on Facebook might not be completely private, didn’t actually lead to Sasha being arrested because the police told the couple that it wasn’t enough evidence for a conviction. So they installed security cameras in the house, and it didn’t take long for footage to be recorded showing Sasha stuffing items of clothing into her bag and walking out with them.

She pleaded guilty to theft and was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid community work. I wonder if she’ll post pictures of that on her timeline?
