A BLATANT PLUG FOR AN EXCELLENT COMPUTER COMPANY

The company that sold me my lovely new computer is called AWD-IT and I thoroughly recommend them to anyone in the UK looking to get a new computer. They customize computers to your specification by building them from scratch.
You choose a basic configuration, whether it’s for the home/office, as a media centre or a gaming PC, then can select the amount of memory, size of hard drive, how powerful a processor, what kind of graphics card and so on until you get exactly what you want.
A huge advantage of getting a computer from this company is that it doesn’t come pre-installed with a load of adware crap that you have to then spend ages removing.
And as if that isn’t enough, if you want to install your own operating system such as Linux, you don’t have to buy Windows with the machine. If you do want it to come with Windows then you can get Windows 7 rather than the abysmal Windows 8.1.

I ordered it on Monday morning. They had it ready to be shipped by the end of Tuesday afternoon. I could have had it delivered on Wednesday. That’s speedy service!
Another little personal touch: the guy building my computer for me had a query so he emailed me. After we resolved the query, he asked me if the computer was going to be used for Federation. I assume he’d recognised the ibgames domain in my email address. He said that some of the guys at the firm had been around for years and they remembered Federation from the old days! That was nice.
Alan also gets his computers from AWD-IT and is just as happy with them as I am.
