REAL LIFE NEWS: COLDS LIKE COLD
by Hazed
Summer colds notwithstanding, we’re much more likely to catch the annoying virus in the winter. Now scientists have figured out why, and it may help you to relieve the symptoms.
US researchers have shown that rhinoviruses, which cause the common cold, are much happier in a cold nose. The human immune system is much weaker when the temperature is cooler, allowing the viruses to thrive.
This means if you get a cold, you should keep your nose warm and avoid cold air. The immune system will be more effective and the viruses won’t reproduce so much.
So keep warm, and if you have to go out in the cold, cover your nose with a scarf!
