US TIME CATCHES UP WITH THE UK

Having been behind the times for a week, the US moved its clocks back an hour last night, putting the two sides of the pond back in sync. I hope you all enjoyed your extra hour, whatever you chose to do with it.
The end of the time of saving daylight means that for Americans, the reset (which always uses UK time, because that’s where the servers live) will appear to move back to its normal time of 8am eastern, or thereabouts.
So with summertime officially at an end, it’s time to get out the winter duvet and start wearing woolly jumpers. Even the newsdroids have been seen sporting bobble hats and scarfs, although since they are emblazoned with the logos of their favourite droidball team, Accrington Droidly, I suspect it’s not really to do with keeping warm. They are droids, after all, so can regulate their internal temperatures without having to wear clothes!
They took me to a droidball match once. Their team was playing away against Droidwich United. It was very exciting! The teams try to kick one of their opponents’ heads into the goal, and if they succeed the headless droid has to leave the pitch. The winner is the last team to have droids standing.
I was concerned that the droids would be damaged by losing their heads, but was reassured that the game only recruits players whose brains are in the centre of the bodies.
I won’t be going again, though. I prefer to watch a nice relaxing bout of zero-g synchronized swimming.
