VAIN CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: REPLACEMENT PHOTO FOR WANTED POSTER
by Hazed
A wanted criminal was so upset by the terrible photo police were using as his mugshot that he emailed them a selfie to use instead.
Donald “Chip” Pugh is wanted by police in Lima, OH, because he failed to show up in court, and because he’s a person of interest in arson and vandalism cases. They issued a crime alert including Pugh’s photo.
When he saw the alert he felt that the photo didn’t do his good looks justice. So he sent them a replacement, a selfie which is much more flattering.
What’s more, Lima police agreed to use the selfie in future.
Pugh then phoned a local radio station to explain why he sent in the new image: “They did me wrong,” Pugh said, “they put a picture out that had me looking like I was a Thundercat or something. Like James Brown on the run.”
