REAL LIFE NEWS: WORLD’S FIRST 3D PRINTING RESTAURANT
by Hazed
Speaking of restaurants, a new London restaurant is offering diners food produced by a 3D printer.
Food Ink is offering a ‘multi-sensory food experience’ in which the dishes are created live in front of the customers, using additive manufacturing. The nine-course extravaganza is the brainchild of two chefs, Joel Castanye and Mateu Blanch. To add to the effect, the eating utensils will also be produced using 3D printing, and so will the chairs.
The experimental experience is only available for a few days (the last day is today unfortunately) and anyway it’s limited to just 10 guests a night – a and it costs £250. But I am sure it will be followed by similar events.
