DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: FACEBOOK WANTED POSTER
by Hazed
Criminals just don’t seem to have cottoned on that the police use social media too. Here’s another story of a crook being caught because of his stupid and flagrant use of Facebook.
Mack Yearwood used his wanted poster as his Facebook profile picture. He was wanted for two counts of battery by police in the city of Stuart, Florida. He posted on Facebook that he thought he was safe because police would not “come and get him in Tennessee” – but he was wrong.
When a fresh complaint was made against him in Stuart, investigators tried to find out what they could about him. Presumably a google search led to his Facebook account.
He was arrested the next day on the open warrants, and a new charge of cannabis possession because when he was arrested, a bag of weed fell out of his pocket.
The moral… do I really have to spell it out? If you’re wanted by the law, don’t post stuff on social media that makes it clear you are a criminal!
