ROBOT OF THE WEEK: THE CLOTHES-FOLDER
by Hazed
A robot that folds laundry has been displayed at the CES show in Las Vegas. Laundroid scans items of clothing and identifies their shape to figure out how to fold them, and can sort them into piles by type of garment or who they belong to.
It takes the robot between 5 and 12 minutes to fold one item, which sounds very slow, but the idea is to just set it going with a load of clothes and head out to work, leaving it to work at its own pace during the day.
The robot has been in development for more than a decade, and is about to go on sale.
Now, if it could iron the clothes as well, I might be interested!
