REAL LIFE NEWS: AT LAST, HERE’S MY FLYING CAR!

Commuters in Dubai will soon be able to hop into a flying taxi to get around the city.
The autonomous drones will start ferrying passengers in the summer, according to Mattar al-Tayer, the head of Dubai’s transportation agency.
The drone is an Ehang 184, which can fly without human direction and carry a single passenger and their bag on a journey up to 23 minutes long, about 31 miles.
“This is not only a model, we have actually experimented with this vehicle flying in Dubai’s skies,” said al-Tayer. There are pictures of the vehicle in action at the source link below.
The flying taxis will go at speeds of up to 63 miles an hour. They take two hours to charge fully. Passengers will use an app to summon a taxi and tell it where they want to go; the drone will plot the route and transport the passenger to the destination.
Wow. Ok, it’s not quite the personal flying vehicle we thought we’d have by the 21st century, but it’s not far off. I can’t wait for these drone taxis to arrive in London!
