PICTURE OF THE WEEK: TINY MOON PAN
by Hazed
New images of one of Saturn’s tiny moons have been published. Pan is just 30 kilometres across, and it is shaped something like a walnut with a slab through its centre. Or a dumpling.
The picture were taken by the Cassini spaceprobe a few weeks ago.
And here’s some bonus Cassini pictures:
Mimas, taken as the probe moved away from it in January
and a mosaic of Mimas in Saturn’s shadow
