EXPERIMENTING WITH THE FORMATTING OF THE FED2 STAR EMAILS

If you receive the Fed2 Star emails you may have noticed a few variations in the way the emails looked in the past few issues. That’s because I have been experimenting with different ways of formatting the text of the emails.
These experiments were prompted by an update to Thunderbird, the mail program I use. Suddenly, the way the text appears when I paste it from Word into the compose window, has changed – the program is adding a lot of extra space between paragraphs. I don’t know why it changed, and I haven’t been able to find any info about it online – but I don’t like it. So I have been trying a few different methods to overcome this problem without causing me too much extra work on a Sunday morning!
I have settled on the best method being to forget about formatting, and just send out the mails without any fancy formatting. That’s what I did last week. Unfortunately in the process a couple of the URLs embedded in stories got lost along the way but I will make sure that doesn’t happen again.
