It turns out that one of the benefits of getting a little bit tipsy is that it improve your foreign language ability, and it helps over-65s stay happy and healthy.
Researchers from the University of Liverpool, Maastricht University and King’s College London found that people who were ‘slightly intoxicated’ had better pronunciation of foreign languages than other people who were sober.
In addition, scientists from University of California, San Diego, have found that alcohol can help old people lead a healthier and happier life, and can lower their risk of dementia. Apparently, champagne is best.
