Who doesn’t like a nice rubber ducky to play with in the bath, floating amongst the bubbles. Well, maybe you should ditch your old favourite and replace it with a new one, because a recent report says that rubber ducks are a haven for germs.
Swiss and American researchers collaborated on an experiment to count the microbes swimming around inside rubber ducks. They reported that the liquid that is released when the ducks are squeezed contains “potentially pathogenic bacteria” in four out of five of the toys they studied.
Yuk!
