HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE PURGE ABANDONED PLANETS?

Last week I explained that one of the reasons for the futures list appearing not to be randomised was as an unexpected consequence of many exchanges in Fed DataSpace being maxed out (see http://www.ibgames.net/fednews/2018/180422/official02.html).
Many of the planets with maxed out exchanges are abandoned – that is, they are owned by players who haven’t been in the game for a long time. Every couple of years we go through the system list and remove abandoned planets. But we could do it more often – so we want to know what you think. We’d like the answer to this question:
We’ll run the survey for a couple of weeks then report the result in the next issue of the Star, after the newsdroids come back from their break.
Security note: the survey doesn’t ask for your email address, or your Fed character name, or any other identifying information. We’re not planning to sell your info to a sinister data broker – we’re not Facebook!
