AMARUSHYA'S 1998 RECOMMENDATIONS

Mutant Message Down Under
by Marlo Morgan

During the holidays, I find that I am searching even more deeply inside myself to better understand who I am and how I got to my most present location. I also believe that this process occurs on a daily basis, but often haphazardly, because of the little details that arise and cause us to lose focus on the path we have chosen to travel.

One of my favorite gifts to give is Marlo Morgan's book, Mutant Message Down Under. This story is a fictional account of Morgan's actual spiritual journey across Australia with her Aboriginal guides. Her unique writing style permits readers to participate in the personal changes she experiences throughout her journey while also reflecting inward on themselves.

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Stupid Fairy Tales
by Jon Scieszka

On a much lighter note, the book which makes me giggle beyond belief is The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Stupid Fairy Tales by Jon Scieszka and illustrated by Lane Smith. Not only does the sky keep falling, but the Princess actually is sleeping on a bowling ball and the ugly duckling is a REALLY ugly duckling! The witty sarcasm and bizarre expressive illustrations make this book a treat for all ages.
