UNIQUETTE'S 1998 RECOMMENDATIONS

Contrary to popular beliefs, I am a romantic at heart and recommend the following authors and CDs (compact disks, not Chez Diesel).

I seem to find an author that I like and stick with them. Instead of recommending books that you may or may not be able to find, trust in the fact that if you get any of the books from these authors, you will enjoy the romantic reading.

Author: Janet Dailey

I first read This Calder Range, which is actually part two of a three part series. The men in her books are rugged outdoorsmen that seem to stand 10-feet tall and the woman are strong - believing that you stand by your man, no matter what. I consider Janet Dailey's characters to be "working class". She shows them in jeans and work-shirts, and they are happy with having the basics of life. Some of her books that I have, I have read over and over and enjoy them just as much as I did the first time I read them.

Author: Danielle Steel

Danielle Steel first caught my interest with The Promise. Her characters are from the rich upper class. The men are a little more sensitive and the women are strong in the sense of being powerful in businesses and playing dominant rules in relationships. Don't get me wrong. The husky male has shown up a few times.

A few of her books, such as Family Album have gone away from a romantic relationship to look at the life of one specific family or person. These are just as great and will pull at your heartstrings also.

Music: Engima

My all time favorite CD would have to be Enigma's second album, The Cross of Changes. To me, it sounds very spiritual in a Native-American way. It's a slow, easy listening CD that can sooth the savage beast in anyone. Their other two CDs are also excellent.
